Everything you need to know before and during your stay at Killarney View House — cancellation terms, accessibility, identification, payment safety and how we communicate with you.

Cancellation Policy

For direct bookings made through our website or by phone/email:

• Cancellations made more than 14 days before the scheduled arrival date are free of charge.
• Cancellations or modifications made within 14 days of arrival, or in the event of a no-show, will be charged the full first-night rate.
• If you did not pre-pay at the time of booking, the card supplied will be charged 14 days prior to arrival.
• If the card payment is declined, you will receive a notification to update the payment method within 24 hours so we can hold the reservation.

Bookings made through OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, etc.) are subject to the cancellation and payment terms you agreed to with that platform. To amend or cancel an OTA booking, please contact the platform directly.

Accessibility

Please note that Killarney View House is a traditional Irish property over multiple floors with steps at the entrance and stairs to the upper rooms. Unfortunately we are not currently set up to accommodate guests with mobility impairments or those using wheelchairs or walking frames.

If accessibility is important to your stay, please get in touch before booking and we are very happy to recommend nearby properties that are better suited to your needs.

Identification & On-Site Safety

In line with Irish hospitality regulations, all overnight guests aged 16 and over may be asked to present a valid photo ID at check-in (passport, driving licence or national identity card). This is purely a regulatory requirement and your details remain completely confidential.

For everyone’s safety we ask that you keep your room key on you when out, do not give it to anyone other than a registered guest of your room, and report any lost keys or suspicious activity immediately to reception.

Payment Safety — Important

Please read this section carefully. Online accommodation scams have become more sophisticated and we want to make sure you are never caught out.

We will NEVER ask for payment from you via:

• Email links sent to your inbox after booking
• WhatsApp, Meta Messenger, Instagram DMs or any other chat app
• SMS or text messages with payment links
• Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb or other OTA in-app chat (legitimate OTA payments only ever happen on the OTA’s own checkout page)
• Bot-style chat windows on third-party websites

If you receive any message that looks like it is from us asking for payment, card details, account verification or to “confirm your booking” via a link, do not click it. Please contact us directly on +353 64 6633122 or info@killarneyviewhouse.com to verify before doing anything else.

Legitimate payments are only ever taken at our reception, on our own secure booking page (us2.cloudbeds.com), or through the official OTA you booked with.

How We Communicate With You

By providing your phone number and email when you book, you consent to receive booking-related communication from Killarney View House. This may include:

• Booking confirmation
• Pre-arrival information (check-in details, directions, parking)
• Notifications about your reservation
• Replies to questions or requests you send us
• A short post-stay thank-you and feedback request

We do not pass your contact details to third parties or affiliates for marketing. Your data is used only to manage your stay.

SMS / Text Messaging Policy

We use a secure guest messaging platform to send time-sensitive information by text message — for example, room readiness updates, check-in instructions and replies to questions during your stay.

Purpose: pre-arrival info, check-in instructions, room readiness updates, and replies to requests during your stay.

Opt-out: you can stop messages at any time by replying STOP to any text. You will receive a single confirmation, after which no further SMS will be sent.

Privacy: SMS opt-in data is not shared with third parties or used for marketing.

Reporting A Suspicious Message

If you ever receive correspondence claiming to be from Killarney View House and you are unsure whether it is genuine, please:

• Do not click any links or enter any payment details
• Take a screenshot if you can
• Forward or describe it to us at info@killarneyviewhouse.com

We will confirm whether the message is from us, and we appreciate the heads-up — it helps us keep all our guests safe.
